This article explains how soccer active memberships work.
Soccer is unique in how players can play for multiple teams such as their home club as well as their National club. Teams can also put players out on loans to other teams. If a player is on loan, his active membership will show the club he is on loan to. Once the loan ends and he is returned to his home club, his active membership will switch to his home club.
As a result, SportsDataIO offers a few different Membership endpoints to reflect the current team the player is playing for. You can find our Membership endpoints below.
Memberships (Active): shows the current team a player is on
Memberships (Recently Changed): shows the memberships that have changed in the last x amount of days
Memberships by Team (Historical): shows the memberships of players who are no longer on the active roster
