The Experience field for NFL is a bit quirky. You can find the logic for it below.
Rookies will always show 0 for experience for their entire rookie year. In February after their rookie season, they will go from 0 to 2 in years of experience as long as they were on the active roster, IR, or PUP for at least 6 games. Unlike their rookie year, they are already credited for the next year's experience before it even starts.
