This article outlines what a client would need to know regarding Fantasy Projections delivery timelines as well as DFS coverage and availability for each sport.
Fantasy Projections
Game Projections
NFL
Projections for specific weeks are also available, but they get updated by 2 pm ET each Tuesday during the season. These are updated in case of injuries and other team changes, so it is best practice to pull them daily.
Season-long player projections are provided through SportsDataIO's proprietary in-house machine learning models and are available for the full season when they are released in May.
For Super Bowl projections, they will get uploaded on the Tuesday after the Conference Championship games.
MLB
Player game projections are provided through SportsDataIO's proprietary in-house machine learning models and are available 5 days before the game begins. On the day of games, MLB projections for players are customized specifically to that day's game by 10 am EST each game day and will be updated every 15 minutes until the first pitch.
Season-long projections are available around the middle to end of February, after Spring Training begins.
NBA
Player game projections are provided through SportsDataIO's proprietary in-house machine learning models and are available 5 days before the game begins. On the day of games, NBA projections for players are customized specifically to that day's game by 9 am EST each game day and will be updated every 15 minutes until tip-off.
Season-long projections for veterans and rookies are generally available around 4-6 weeks before the season begins.
NHL
Player projections are provided through SportsDataIO's proprietary in-house machine learning models and are available 5 days before the game begins. On the day of games, NHL projections for players are customized specifically to that day's game by 11 am EST each game day and will be updated every 15 minutes until the puck drops.
CFB, CBB, CWBB.
We currently do not provide projections for college sports.
SOCCER
Soccer projections are provided through SportsDataIO's proprietary in-house machine learning models and are available around 14 days before the game begins. Soccer projections will continue to get updated leading up to the start of the game.
Golf
Golf projections are provided through SportsDataIO's proprietary in-house machine learning models and are available around 5 days before the tournament begins. Golf projections will continue to get updated leading up to the start of the game.
League of Legends
LoL projections are generated internally through SportsDataIO using a five match rolling average for the players involved. Projections are available between 3 and 5 days before a match begins.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
CS:GO projections are generated internally through SportsDataIO using a five match rolling average for the players involved. Projections are available between 24 hours or less before a match begins.
Season-Long Projections
We offer season-long projections for NFL, NBA, and MLB. These season-long projection timelines are here to also show when rookie season-long projections become available.
- NFL: Season-long projections for veterans and rookies are generally available sometime in early to mid-May
- MLB: Season-long projections are available around the middle to end of February
- NBA: Season-long projections for veterans and rookies are generally available around 4-6 weeks before the season begins
