This guide outlines when to expect projected and confirmed lineups for various sports, including NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and Soccer.
Projected Lineups: These can be found in our Depth Charts endpoint, which is managed daily by our Data Operations team.
Confirmed Lineups: The confirmed starters for each position are revealed once the game begins as the NFL does not require teams to announce who is starting at each position prior to the game.
Projected Lineups & Batting Order: These are created at the season level and applied to all future games vs. RHP and LHP. Updates are made based on official transaction news, such as players going onto or coming off the IL.
Confirmed Lineups & Batting Order: These are released by the teams on average 2-4 hours before the start of the game. They are added to our feeds within minutes of each team releasing their starting lineup. Both projected and confirmed lineups can be found in our Starting Lineups by Date endpoint.
- For future games, these are produced up to 5 days in advance, and are subject to change as the game approaches.
- For today's games, these are available by 9am ET and updated throughout the day.
Confirmed Lineups: These are released by teams no later than 30 minutes before tip-off. We confirm these within minutes of formal release. Both projected and confirmed lineups can be found in our Starting Lineups by Date endpoint.
Projected Lineups: You can expect to see this populated after the morning skate.
Confirmed Lineups: These are confirmed within minutes of the formal announcement, typically a few hours before the game begins. Both projected and confirmed goalies can be found in our Starting Goaltenders by Date endpoint.
Projected Lineups: Not Available for Soccer matches
Confirmed Lineups: These are released anytime between 10 minutes and 1 hour before the game begins. Confirmed lineups can be found in the Box Score endpoint.
